Stretching to close out your day is a great relaxer for your body. Also, it’s a great way to improve the quality of your sleep. Here are a few tips to get started on adding stretching into your routine.
Improving sleep quality
When you start stretching, set a timer for yourself. This is a great way to ensure you get the highest quality sleep, since you’ll be hitting a particular mark every time. Dedicating the same amount of time every day will also allow you to compartmentalize your evening. Also, it will enforce you hitting the mark constantly so you have a way to measure your results as well. In small increments, you can slowly improve the amount of time set aside for stretching over time.
Find a routine that is both enjoyable and replicable
Starting out with a highly intensive routine will likely detour you from repeating the routine. It must be replicable if it’s going to part of something you can do everyday. This means that you can set an expectation, and systemically work up to it.
Also, your mattress may be contributing to how you feel before and after sleeping. If there is some soreness that is consistently coming from the way you sleep, it may be the fault of your mattress.
